Painting Desk Update 20160601

As I said in an earlier post, I’ll be playing Mercenaries in the upcoming Journeyman League. In the interest of fairness, I am not painting my battlegroup until the rules are published. However, I am not without in progress Mercenary models that can be shoved to the front of the queue. Right now I am working on a Galleon colossal. This particular model may be cursed. I won him in a raffle but that is the sum total of good luck this model has had. After I won him, but before I could take possession, he was in a fairly serious car wreck. He’s missing a few minor pieces and I wouldn’t be surprised if those were lost in the wreck.

Since coming into our home he has had his arm mysteriously removed (we have 2 cats and 2 kids so it’s actually not all that mysterious) and earlier tonight he had the remnants of a 75ml bottle of Vallejo Black Surface Primer poured over him. Thankfully, that was discovered before the paint dried.

Barring further calamity, in a few weeks he will take the field for the first time under the guiding hand of Magnus the Traitor. I look forward to that day, but I have plenty of painting to do before he is table ready.

  1. Magnus is going to be a blast to run, man. Looking forward to what he can do in MK3! Looking forward to hearing about the pain and suffering you cause with this massive bastard!

    • I’m greatly looking forward to it. Strangely, the aspect of MK3 Magnus1 that I’m most jazzed about is his repair ability. He’s got a shotgun and a robot arm and I’m all about fixing ‘jacks. It makes no logical sense.
